South Korea says seven bodies of foreignxovictims of Itaewon have been returned to Thailand, with compensation of 5-10 million won each
On November 3, Yonhap news agency cited South Korea's Central Disaster Response and Safety Agency as saying that 156 of the victims of the tragedy in Itaewon were among the 121. The body was brought to the funeral ceremony already.
Of the 26 foreign fatalities, including one Thai, seven have been repatriated.
The Disaster Response Office said that Of the 173 people injured in the disaster, 38 of them are still in hospital, and 135 have returned home.
The South Korean government will provide compensation to the families of the victims who died in the tragedy. This includes foreign victims at 20 million won (about 530,000 baht) each, plus a funeral cost of 15 million won (about 400,000 baht). For the victims, injured survivors will receive compensation of 5 per person. 10 million won (approximately 130,000- 260,000 baht), depending on the severity of the injury sustained.
